The Seiko Lord Matic carries a rich legacy as the successor to the Seikomatic line, continuing the heritage of the first high-beat 36,000 bph Lord Marvel.

The 5606 movement, initially introduced around 1968, served as the foundation for the early 1970s King Seiko and Grand Seiko models. This movement, an automatic + manual winding mechanism, beats at 21,600 bph and features a day-date quickset function. It’s a JDM watch with the day displayed in both kanji and English.

The Seiko Lord Matic offers a wide variety of designs, ranging from simple monochrome to vibrant, colorful dials. Take, for instance, the 1973 Seiko 5606-8040 from the Suwa division, boasting a stunning blue vertical gradient dial with a linen texture. It showcases baton indices that double at the six, nine, and twelve o’clock positions, complemented by unique gold hands and a gold-framed day-date window. Notably, this watch features a faceted crystal that, despite being polished, retains its light faceted shape.

In very good condition with minimal signs of wear, this watch includes its original long LM bracelet, accommodating wrists up to +/- 19cm in size.
